As we navigate unchartered territory with COVID-19, there’s talk about developing a vaccine to protect the public, when a it would be available, and how it offers hope to medical professionals treating the novel coronavirus. Moderna, a Massachusetts company, is currently working on developing a vaccine. Experts expect full-scale human trials to begin in April.

Dr. Peter Friedmann is the Chief Research Officer at Baystate Health. Dr. Friedmann joined Carolee McGrath to talk about the potential for a vaccine, the time needed to develop it, and how vaccines have changed and saved lives.
