We may have a covid-19 vaccine in the next 9-12 months: Soumya Swaminathan, chief scientist, WHO



It’s unprecedented that within three months we have over 100 vaccine candidates for covid-19–Soumya Swaminathan, chief scientist, World Health Organisation (WHO) said in conversation with ThePrint’s editor-in-chief Shekhar Gupta. Swaminathan said there are seven vaccine candidates that are in the first phase of human clinical trials.
WHO is trying to get governments, scientists, vaccine manufacturers to come together to get a vaccine in the shortest possible time and we may get a potential covid-19 vaccine in the next 9-12 months.
