5 new mass graves were discovered in Tarhuna

The media office of the General Authority for Search and Identification of Missing Persons of the island reported that its search teams had discovered 5 new mass graves in the connection project in Tarhuna city (southeast of Tripoli), and unidentified bodies are being recovered from them.

The commission also reported that, since last June 5, it has recovered 102 mass graves found in Tarhuna and the southern Tripoli area. It stated that 74 of them were found in 11 mass graves in Tarhuna.

28 bodies were found in areas south of Tripoli, where clashes took place – for more than a year – between Al-Wefaq forces and the forces of retired Major General Khalifa Haftar.

The commission stated that it had received 307 reports of missing persons during the war.
