  1. 24 hours after Ukraine said they would investigate it

  2. >“Until the story broke ahead, **to the best of my recollection** I had never heard of this at all,” Pompeo said, adding that he intends to “evaluate, investigate” whether Yovanovitch was under surveillance.

To the best of my recollection.

To the best of my recollection, I didn’t hear about my own ambassador to Ukraine being surveilled. I stand before you, before god and history, to declare: If I heard that she was being surveilled, I instantly forgot hearing it.

  3. “We’ve tasked Rudy Giuliani with the investigation.”

  4. “Due to the serious nature of these allegations and acting with the required expediency, we will be announcing our findings prior to beginning the investigation…”

  5. “It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it.”

  6. My favorite part is this.

    > “I suspect that much of what’s been reported will ultimately prove wrong, but our obligation, my obligation as secretary of state, is to make sure that we evaluate, investigate. Any time there is someone who posits that there may have been a risk to one of our officers, we’ll obviously do that,” Pompeo said.

So basically you’ve determined that everything is wrong…but believe you when you say you’ll get to the bottom of this. That doesn’t sound predetermined at all.

Reality…yeah, my boss is in bed with the Russian mob and there’s nothing that I can investigate that doesn’t implicate him.

  7. The story is out, it looks really bad.
International media storm condemns the threats and stalking.
    US congresspeople call for retribution.
    Ukraine opens investigations.

Pompeo speands 48 hours privately muttering ‘Oh shit oh shit oh shit…’

and finally he arrives at ‘Just stay cool, act natural. If we’re innocent, what would we do? Right! Investigate! Great idea!!’

  8. Investigate what? HE KNEW what was happening. Pompeo needs to resign, the lying shit bag

  9. How long before Trump throws Pompeo under the bus and says that Pompeo was the one pulling all the strings? Because I can see Trump firing him and then claim himself a “moral hero” who should be praised for his actions. *”I should get a medal. But I won’t. Do Nothing Democrats would never do such a thing. So nasty. So petty. But I saved this nation. I will never stand for corruption.”*

  10. # After more than 48 hours of ~~silence~~ destroying evidence, Pompeo says State will ~~investigate~~ cover up ~~possible~~ surveillance of ex-US ambassador

  11. “After thorough investigation of ourselves, we have cleared ourselves of all wrongdoing. Case closed. No you can’t see any of the materials relating into our investigation into ourselves.”

  12. Interesting how Pompeo can’t clearly say he never met Parnas, in each sentence leaving an escape hatch should evidence to the contrary come out, where have I seen this before… cough cough Nunes

  13. No doubt, Bill Barr will be in charge of the investigation.

  14. ‘I had, **to the best of my recollection**, had never heard of this at all’

Fucksakes. He knew *while* it was happening.

  15. So, pretty much, the people who actually were stalking and harassing the ambassador are going to investigate the stalking and harassing of the ambassador. This kind of reminds me of the police back before internal affairs and the FBI would investigate crimes committed by cops.

  16. I have a feeling we will need an investigation into this investigation.

  17. But Hillary’s Benghazi reaction time was too slow. Ok.

  18. Pompeo: “Sure, we’ll ‘investigate.’ Whoops, didn’t find anything!”

  19. “Possible surveillance”….it’s written in plain English dude.

  20. So a guy probably complicite in this says he is gonna have an investigation. What a load of crap.the US is so fucked, to a lesser extent many other countries are too.

  21. This poor woman must be terrified. The president is making threats against her on Twitter, his rabid fanbase is making even more graphic threats, she already lost her job because multiple powerful heads of state were attempting to hide their illegal activities, and she finds out she was being spied on the whole time.

Our government is so fucking corrupt. Trump really brought a whole new swamp.

  22. Finally got all the evidence burned

  23. It’s just “the police have investigated themselves and found no evidence of wrongdoing,” State Department edition.

  24. I bet it will be every bit as thorough as the investigation into Kavanaugh – meaning, we can expect it to conclude in less than a week without interviewing a single person. Not even the ones that call in of their own volition.

  25. So we have gone from the ” Bengazy” circus orchestrated by the GOP to finding out that the Orange colostomy bag sitting in the White House had an active target on Marie Yovanovitch head, all this aided and abetted by Moscow Mich, Leningrad Lindsey and the rest of the traitors GOP members. . .wake up America!

  26. Investigate? Like the way they “investigated” Kavanaugh?

  27. “to the best of my recollection” Watch for Trump and his team to start using this phrase a lot. It allows them to say whatever they want to make them sound innocent without lying because they can’t lie about anything if they simply don’t remember anything correctly.

It would be like if the police asked you “Did you murder that woman?” And you said “To the best of my recollection I didn’t” so that no can accuse you of lying and saying you didn’t.

The State department can investigate these accusations all they want. But the State department has lost all credibility. It will be up to the various US state governments themselves to investigate. Otherwise it will just be investigators investigating themselves again.

  28. We will investigate our incompetence and find no wrong doing

  29. And by “investigate”, he means “not investigate”.

  30. Pompeo is a worthless sack of shit.

  31. “After calling on ourselves to investigate ourselves we have found no evidence of wrong-doing on the part of ourselves. Ourselves will now be taking questions.”

  32. how come such a douchebag like pompeo holds such a big position in the united states? :/

  33. >Her phone is off. Computer is off. She’s next to the embassy. Not in the embassy. Private security. Been there since Thursday.”
“They are willing to help if we/you would like a price.” he said in another message.

    ummm….

    >Hyde told CNN Tuesday there was “no effing way” that he had been offering to harm Yovanovitch.

    …yeah…

  34. “Aaaannnnnd investigation complete, no wrong doing found” I assume he said 5 min later

  36. It’s a requirement to be a liar, coward, greedy and stupid to join Donny’s team. Donny’s sheepeople love those kind of people

  37. Not sure I want this liar having a role in investigating… seems it would be too easy for him to further conceal wrong doing and destroy any evidence discovered.

  38. “We’ll give it the ‘ole look-see, wink wink”

  39. It takes time to get your corrupt cronies onto it and get the narratives wordsmithed. Cant leave it to the usual investigative services, they will find shit.

  40. >”Until this story broke, I had, to the best of my recollection, had never heard of this at all,” Pompeo told Hugh Hewitt.

Recollection, or perhaps purposeful ignorance, or perhaps an outright lie. Disappointing to witness a USMA West Point grad to fail multiple times under pressure to have the back of the troops.
