The Villarreal team advanced to the top of the Spanish Football League temporarily after a goalless draw with its host Atletico Madrid today, Saturday, in the fifth round of the League, which saw Eibar achieving its first victory by defeating host Valladolid 2-1.
Villarreal raised its score at the top to 8 points, compared to 5 points for Atletico in 10th place.
Eibar also raised its score to 4 points, occupying the 13th place, while Valladolid was frozen at two points in the nineteenth position before the last.
Esteban Burgos opened the scoring for Eibar from a penalty kick in the 29th minute, then Tony Villa Suarez equalized for Valladolid in the 37th minute.
Sergio Guardiola Navarro missed the opportunity to score for Valladolid from a penalty kick in the 48th minute.
Eibar was shocked when his player Papa Cole Diop was sent off in the 73rd minute for receiving the second warning, but the team held on to victory and decided the match in its favor in the final seconds with a goal scored by Kevin Rodriguez.
