  1. So, either the Russians are lying, or boris is?

    Who to believe.
They’re both usually so trustworthy. /s

  2. They have not denied he is in Oxygen Therapy.

  3. We’ll know in a week.

  4. Well, actually, the message from RIA Novosti says that Boris WILL be connected to the device. This is the future tense.

I wonder what will happen if Boris does need a ventilator now? I hope he heroically refuses it, so as not to let the Russian media win.

  5. Serious question, as I don’t follow much about UK politics – Is Johnson kind of like the UK’s Trump? I’ve only seen weird, crazy media about him, and I don’t know enough about him to form an image other than him seeming a little like Trump.

I don’t know if this question is offensive, but it’s not my intention if so.

  6. The guy is in the hospital and being treated with oxygen. That seems scary enough without embellishment given where that puts Boris in terms of the way this disease progresses.

  7. Why would Boris’ friends lie about him? Remember Boris has financial and friendship ties with Russia.

  8. The UK government & Western media have gone on overdrive, back to the usual Russian ‘disinformation’ blame game. Firstly, the Russian RIA Novosti is not targeted at a Western audience in the hope of pushing disinformation onto us. They were reporting to their home market, and the statement actually said the following:

**RIA Novosti statement:** British Prime Minister Boris Johnson will carry out artificial ventilation

**Dailymail headline:** Boris receives oxygen treatment after being admitted to hospital

**The Independent:** Downing Street has refused to say if Boris Johnson required oxygen treatment after being taken to hospital

The fact that they are not denying it means that the Russians may be onto something. Things are also lost in translation here.. ‘artificial ventilation’ and ‘ recieves oxygen treatment’ are synonmous. None is specific, they are both saying he had some sort of ventilation treatment.

  9. He’s on oxygen.

Saying he’s on a ventilator might be a lie, but saying he only went in for testing is also a lie.

Most govts lie most of the time

  10. So NOW they care about Russian disinformation..

  11. At this point, I half expect them to stick BJ up on a horse and ride him out like at the end of El Cid to prove that he’s still alive

  12. >a coronavirus ventilator

    Lol

  13. I don’t know wether to believe Boris Johnson or the Russian government less.

  14. I find this hard to believe seeing as how Russia is a paragon of honesty and integrity.
