  2. Well, it can, and nobody is trying to stop them.

    It’s just that if they’d like to trade with the civilised world, their laws have to be concomitant with ours.

    First of all, trade agreements should probably not be based on feelings. But let’s glance over that.

    In that scenario the EU would probably tell the UK to wait a little bit because ‘we need to crunch some numbers’, and resume talks as December 2020 draws closer, maybe even beyond.

    Let’s see what the UK will agree to once they have experienced the full freedom of trading under WTO terms.
