British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced a new public isolation in England on Monday, and instructed citizens to stay home to contain the most contagious strain of the Corona virus.
Johnson said in a televised address on Monday evening that schools will be closed, starting today, Tuesday, indicating that the closure measures will remain in effect until mid-February.
Johnson added that people would only be allowed to leave their homes in order to buy basic necessities, exercise, go out for medical reasons, escape domestic violence, or go to the workplace if they are unable to work from home.
The British Prime Minister clarified that the new closure will become law from “the early hours” of tomorrow, Wednesday, but people must follow the new rules from now.
The announcement of a new lockdown in England comes at a time when government figures revealed today that the United Kingdom has recorded a record daily infections of the emerging coronavirus, with 58,784 cases. This is the seventh day in a row that Britain has recorded a daily death toll, with more than 50 thousand injuries.
