  1. Bunch of idiots below me (or above me) calling this click bait.

Users idontneedpants, clicketyclickclack, and pinkxel all seem especially dumb.

1M jobs lost, the most ever recorded in a month. It should be fairly obvious that the situation is critical.

1 year like this and the economic fallout would make the great depression look like a ferris wheel.

  2. Agreed – all things considered, if they had been following the news they might have known that this is precisely why they opened the Canadian emergency relief fund ……

  3. And this is why we need UBI.

Everyone who has a stable, resilient job will receive UBI and pay it right back in taxes, since they don’t actually need it. Folks who work extremely volatile service jobs, seasonal jobs, etc won’t need to constantly go on EI, and in situations like this, won’t need to be bailed out by the government in a panic.

  4. Can’t wait for the conservatives to blame the liberal party for this.

  5. The use of shed makes it sound like it was dead weight

  6. Basically all jobs from the service sector:

“The services sectors were by far the hardest hit, losing 963,500 jobs”

To be expected when those businesses are shut down during the pandemic. Title is very fear mongery/click baity.

  7. Welcome to the world wide depression. We are all going down on this sinking ship except the top 5%.

  8. Good, means they stayed home. 🙂
