  1. Can cats pass the virus to humans, though? What about other common domestic animals?

  2. 15% out of a hundred, huh? Hold on. Let me do the math.

  3. I thought the who said cats and dogs can’t get it?

  4. TASS reporting on what Chinese vets are reporting. Right.

  5. Title makes it sounds way worse than the article:

“The results are based on lab experiments in which a small number of animals were deliberately given high doses of the virus, SARS-CoV-2, and do not represent real-life interactions between people and their pets, says virologist Linda Saif at the Ohio State University in Wooster. There is no direct evidence that the infected cats secreted enough coronavirus to pass it on to people”

  6. Later this year: Donald Trump declares cats and dogs illegal because of virus danger. Orders them rounded up and euthanized.

  7. tass is a russian news agency…take this with a grain of salt

  8. But somehow only 0.5% of Wuhan was infected

  9. At this rate, we’re gonna have a virus that is a recombinant of equine, swine, feline, canine, avian flu and whatever is sold at the wet market.

  10. I’m curious if this means that we can expect mutations as the virus passes through animal hosts. And if that happens, I’m curious what it would mean.

  11. uh oh… my cat’s been sneezing…

  12. Hhhmmmm now nobody suggest that coronavirus infected dogs and cats could’ve entered the food chain of the Wuhan wet market because that would be racist.

  13. ANYTHING IS ASURFACE WITH GERMS ON IT

  14. Ok but how many of these cats were or were not up to date on their vaccines? FIP (Feline infectious peritonitis) is caused by a coronavirus and FIP vaccine protects against that. Is it really covid-19 they are detecting?

  15. Every article I’ve seen that claim cats or dogs are getting infected have been from untrustworthy sites.

  16. Exposed does not mean infected. We can be exposed to any number of viruses or bacteria that do not go on to infect us, largely due to host incompatibility. These pets were exposed to the virus, but almost certainly did not get infected by the virus.

  17. SHIT. . . . Those empty adoption centers are about to become cat loaded. True year of the tiger and bat.

  18. Hasnt this always been the case? Its not covid 19

  19. I’d have more confidence in this report if it came from a source other than *Tass*.

    * Overall, we rate the Russian News Agency (TASS), **Questionable** based on consistent promotion of Russian Propaganda, conspiracies and poor sourcing of information.

  20. Show me a source that’s not from Moscow about this and I might actually believe it.

  21. I don’t trust a single digit from those liars. I don’t care how much they shelled out to reddit.

  22. This is China getting their population to stop eating dogs and cats. Guaran-fucking-tee it.

  23. Does that mean more than 15% of people were infected too?

  24. why r ppl acting like this virus didn’t originate in animals anyways …

  25. So, they actually collected 7 and all of them had it.

  26. does that mean 2 of them will die? lol.
