    Say we managed to do such amazing engineering. Would you continue to live in a place only protected by that dam?

    I for sure wouldn’t. I find it insane enough that people willingly move close enough in modern times to places with active volcanoes and such. If there is space elsewhere on land, I usually find that more appealing.
