Political circles in Washington witnessed angry reactions to the leaked phone call of outgoing President Donald Trump, in which he was pressuring the Georgia state secretary to change the election results, while former defense ministers issued a statement regarding the relationship of the military with the controversy surrounding the election safety.
The Washington Post was published (The Washington Post) Leaked phone call to outgoing President Donald Trump urging the Georgia state secretary to “find 11,780 votes” to turn the presidential election result in his favor.
The newspaper said that this anomalous call took place on Saturday and lasted for an hour. It quoted experts as saying that it may raise legal problems.
According to the newspaper – which published clips of the call on its website – Trump used several methods to address Georgia State Secretary Brad Ravensburger – a Republican like himself – that varied between flattery and pleading, and between reprimanding and threatening of unclear criminal consequences if he refused to respond to his allegations, to the point where he told him: He is committing a “big risk”.
Throughout the duration of the call, Ravensberger and his chief legal adviser rejected Trump’s insistence on fraud in the vote-counting processes, and made it clear to him that he was relying on unfounded conspiracy theories, and that President-elect Joe Biden’s victory in the state by 11,779 votes was fair and accurate.
Senate Democrat Dick Durbin has called for a criminal investigation into the leaked Trump call.
Politico newspaper quoted Democrat Adam Schiff as saying that Trump’s leaked call is the most heinous abuse of power, and may be of a criminal nature.

As for Bob Pow, senior adviser to President-elect Joe Biden, he considered the call conclusive evidence of Trump’s attempt to cancel legal votes counting in Georgia to fabricate other votes.
He added, “Trump’s leaked call is evidence of his threat to an official from his party to change the election result.”
For her part, Kamala Harris, Vice President-elect, described Trump’s efforts to cancel the election results in Georgia as “a bold abuse of power.”
She said at a campaign event in Savannah, Georgia, that Trump’s actions reveal a “voice of despair.”
And there was turmoil also among the Republicans. Representative Adam Kinzinger called on his party members not to go along with the president in his campaign, saying, “You cannot do it with a clear conscience.”
It is noteworthy that the outgoing President Donald Trump still refuses to recognize the victory of his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden.
Trump said he would attend the rally against the election results on January 6 in Washington, DC.
And the Republican minority leader in the US House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy declared support for efforts to protest the election results.
