Curfew tightened in France
In France, the government announced an increase in curfew hours in 15 regions in the northeast and southeast of the country, starting from Saturday, to combat the spread of the virus.
“We will assess the impact of expanding the curfew in those areas on the spread of the virus in the rest of the country,” government spokesman Gabriel Atal said in a statement to TF1 channel.
He added, “If the situation deteriorates further in some areas, we will take the necessary decisions. The measures are gradual and it is possible, of course, in principle, to reach the point of general isolation.”
France has already imposed lockdown twice, before measures were eased in mid-December.
France has the highest number of COVID-19 cases in Western Europe and ranks fifth in the world.
Turkey monitors the new strain
In the meantime, Turkey detected infections with the new strain of Corona virus that Britain had revealed.
Turkish Health Minister Fakhruddin Kujah announced the diagnosis of 15 cases of the new strain in people coming from Britain, but confirmed that the situation is under control.
In a statement, Koca explained that his country had taken the necessary measures regarding the new dynasty, and had suspended flights coming from Britain.
He stated that a survey was conducted on people with corona coming from Britain in the last period, and those 15 infections were diagnosed with the new strain.
And he added that these infected people have been subject to quarantine since the beginning of the survey, as well as their contacts, pointing to a wider survey, explaining that no infection with the new strain has been diagnosed inside the country.
