Algerian star Riad Mahrez led Manchester City back to the road to victories in the Premier League, and scored two goals in the big victory over Southampton 5-2 on Wednesday in a match that was presented from the 33rd stage of the competition.
De Bruyne opened the scoring for Manchester City in the 15th minute, before James Ward Brace tied for Southampton in the 21st minute with a penalty kick.
Mahrez returned to City by scoring the second goal for the owners of the land in the 40th minute, then his German teammate Ilkay Gundogan added the third goal in the third minute of the calculated time instead of lost for the first half, after following up with a rebound from the post that was shot by Mahrez.

Mahrez continued his brilliance after scoring the fourth goal for City in the 55th minute, but Southampton quickly narrowed the difference after Che Adams scored a second goal for the guests in the next minute.
De Bruyne returned to hit the net again, scoring the fifth goal for his team and his second personal goal in the 59th minute, to restore Manchester City a smile to the faces of his fans who were frustrated after the team lost 2-0 at home to Manchester United in their last meeting in the championship.
Manchester City’s score rose to 68 points from 29 games, strengthening its position at the top, 14 points ahead of its closest stalker, arch-rival Manchester United, who played 28 games.
On the other hand, Southampton stuck to 33 points in the 14th place in the competition ranking.
