  1. The point of quarantining a ship has always been to keep diseases from reaching shore, with keeping it from spreading among the passengers always a secondary concern.

  2. Given how outbreaks usually go on cruise ships, attempting a quarantine on board was a fools errand to start with.

  3. I mean haven’t large scale outbreaks happened before on cruise ships. Stuff like food based, and flu? I mean a bunch of people packed into a hot humid confined environment with recirculated air seems like the ideal breeding spot for a disease.
