A picture published by the “Concept 15” restaurant in Dammam caused a massive campaign to boycott the shop owned by a Kuwaiti.
The restaurant’s account on “Snapchat” published a picture of the arrival of the Qatari delegation, headed by the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, to attend the funeral of the late Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
“I posted you” on (01/10/2020) I followed what the account wrote above the photo it published; He attached it with the phrase: “He who does not comfort us in the time of trouble, the time of joy does not harm us (blame) us.”
Saudi singers understood that the intent behind the tweet was an attack on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and launched the hashtag “Boycott the Concept Restaurant”, which reached the list of the most traded in Saudi Arabia, and through it they called for a boycott of the restaurant and accused it of insulting the leadership of the Kingdom.
Others, on the other hand, launched a campaign on the restaurant’s page on Google, by evaluating it with one star, with the aim of discouraging customers from visiting it.
This campaign prompted the owners of the “Bono” restaurant chain, which owns the “Concept” restaurant in its Saudi branch, to publish a statement through their Instagram account, in which they said:
We, the owners of Bono Restaurant, announce that the partnership with the owner of the trademark “Concept 15 has been dissolved, and that the traded Snapchat account is a personal account that does not represent us, and we would like to warn that the restaurant is 100% Saudi owners, and work is underway to remove the panels and all associated with it. Previous brand tags. “
Whereas, the campaign prompted the Kuwaiti trademark owner to post a tweet via his Twitter account to explain his position, and said that he was not referring to Gulf countries by what he wrote above the photo he posted, but rather to non-Gulf Arab countries.
