Fun home experiments to simplify science to your child

Scientific sites offer experiments dedicated to fun and connecting children with science, by mixing some materials, which give exciting chemical effects to attract children to understand more about science, and among those sites is the “ScienceFun” site, which is a site that contains thousands of fun and simple experiments, Which can be implemented at home, in this report we review scientific experiments with simple household components to spend an enjoyable and useful time.

Fountain of colors
Materials:

10 ml dish washing soap.
100 milliliters of cold water.
400 milliliters of white vinegar.
Food coloring.
Half a cup of Baking Soda.
Empty 2 liter plastic bottle.

Mix the liquid materials, put baking soda and the child’s favorite food color inside the 2 liter bottle, and when pouring the liquids, take a step back. Because it will spread to a large degree and at a high level, so it is preferable to do the experiment in an open place.

Colors in milk
Materials:

Container.
1/2 cup of milk.
Liquid dish washing soap.
Cotton ear swab (ear wand).
Food colors, more than one color.

Put the milk in a bowl, then add various drops of food coloring, and on the cotton swab, put a drop of dishwashing soap liquid, and use dish soap on the color points with the milk; And because soap breaks down fats, the two materials will separate. Then you will move to create waves of colors in the milk, the experience varies between whole milk and skimmed milk and with different milk temperatures, and ground black pepper that is affected by soap can be added by quickly moving away from the concentrated point of soap.

Layers of fluid
Materials:

Tall plastic bottle.
Tablespoon.
water.
oil.
Qatar or honey.
Optional: food colors.
Paper towels.

The great thing about this experiment is that you can mix liquids in any order; But it is better to fill about half of the bottle with water, then add a drop of food coloring, be careful not to add too many colors so as not to block the vision, followed by adding some of the drop points in the water slowly and watching what happens; Does it sink or float?

Slowly add some drops of oil, and see if it sinks or will it float?

Each of these liquids has a different density (i.e. the amount of particles per square inch). Denser liquids have more particles, and this causes them to sink to the bottom. Conversely, less dense liquids float to the surface.

Fluid Dancer
Materials:

Flour.
Water.
Food colors.
Big speaker.
Butter paper / aluminum foil.

Water with flour is mixed with food coloring, and the mixture is poured onto a thin sheet of butter paper or aluminum. The paper is placed over a loudspeaker over an insulated tray or plastic box and the music is played and the materials are dancing. The dances also change by changing the music, and thus the child learns that music is made of Different set of vibrations, which cause fluid to move in different shapes.

With home schooling and long-term stay at home recently, the participation of children in enjoyable and useful times is essential, and it must be taken care of regularly to strengthen the relationship between parents and children, and these experiences do not only involve playing and spending quality time; But it also paves the way for many scientific rules in a simple and without complexity.
