It seems that the Dutch coach Ronald Koeman wants to show his strong personality, and that he is different from some former coaches who were said to be controlled by the “Bolga” and to make technical decisions for them and he was the decision-maker in the club.
Koeman decided to rest 3 players against Hungarian Frenkvarrozi on Wednesday in the fifth round of the European Champions League, and they are: German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Felipe Coutinho, and Messi.
This is the second time that Messi relaxes in the continental competition, after his absence from facing Dynamo Kiev in the fourth stage of the competition, which Barca won by 4-0.
When asked about this step during the press conference preceding tomorrow’s match, Koeman explained that “it is not normal for Messi to relax. I know this. I spoke to him about this step even if the decision was mine.”
“We have included qualifying for the Champions League final price since the last stage, and for this I can give opportunities to other players. We have to win the Saturday match in the League (against Kadish) and this is a golden opportunity for him (Messi), and this may not be available in the coming days.”
Barca leads Group G with 12 points, 3 points behind Juventus, who is second, while Dynamo Kiev ranks third with one point on goal difference from Frenkvarrozi, who is in last place.
