  1. Islamic Jihad is always going to have a PR problem with that name.

  2. I saw rockets being intercepted from my balcony. Thank god for iron dome.

  3. My workplace closed and I got sent home.

    Real chaotic vibes here.

  4. I wonder how many are going to say “those rockets never kill anyone, they are just tiny little rockets” etc in defence of islamic jihad.

  5. Just a small reminder: every rocket the Islamic Jihad deliberately fires at civilians is considered a war crime or a crime against humanity even if they miss or if the rocket was intercepted.

  6. My friend goes to school in Tel Aviv, her city is basically on lockdown and she’s stuck in her dorm

  7. Close to 200 rockets so far. Every half hour my phone buzzes to tell me that another 20-ish rockets have fallen.

  8. I’m in Haifa, luckily far from trouble. My family live in the south though. Stay safe everybody

  9. Terrorism in any form is despicable. Stay safe Israel.

  10. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-5623573,00.html) reduced by 67%. (I’m a bot)
    > The IDF killed Islamic Jihad commander Bahaa Abu al-Atta in a Gaza airstrike overnight Monday, in a resumption of targeted killing for the first time since 2014.

    > This is the first incident of targeted killing by Israel since the end of the 2014 Gaza conflict, Operation Protective Edge.

    > Israel media reported lately that Abu el-Atta was responsible for recent rocket attacks against southern Israel communities, instructed by Tehran.

  11. God Bless Israel & IDF for keeping her safe!

  12. Well, heres hoping for some quite, I’m kinda feeling this will last fora few days, dont think Israel wants an escalation.

  13. Before the narratives becomes crystallized and spread I just want to say I’m a religious Jew living in Israel and I know this was 100% a political move by Netanyahu in the face of impending third elections. There hadn’t been a coordinated assassination in Gaza since the last war, and the IDF and state department have released no information of about a particular reason why this assassination took place now other than “impending threats” and “history of terorrism.” And let me tell you, this is going to work. Netanyahu is going to get re-elected now. Fuck Bibi, Fuck Trump, and fuck the hatred they peddle that has metastasized through the western world.

  14. At this point, are those organizations saying : “we can’t win but we can hurt you”? Like, if they’re going to be wiped out, they’ll make it as painful as possible?

Or is it tit for tat escalation?

At some point, you’ll have to either give them all an israeli citizenship so they can have their civil rights moment or recognize the palestinian state so they can make their own choices with how to relate and commerce with the rest of the world and build a future for themselves that they won’t want to jeopardize with war. This current situation is the worst of all of the possibilities for everyone.

If Ireland and the UK managed to come to acceptable terms like adults, why can’t you? What makes both sides so useless and stupid? Absolutely disgraceful.

It does spice up my popcorn, though.

  15. Seems like “IDF” didn’t only *assassinate* somebody in Gaza, apparently there was a simultaneous operation happening in [Damascus, Syria](https://www.reddit.com/r/syriancivilwar/comments/dv4hmh/breaking_a_building_near_lebanon_embassy_in/), near the Lebanese embassy.
