Defender Milan Shkrinyar scored in the second half to give Inter to a 1-0 win over Atlanta on Monday evening, and coach Antonio Conte’s team regained the top of the Italian football league by 6 points.
Inter appeared tense in the first half and goalkeeper Samir Handanovic saved a ball from Atlanta’s Dovan Zapata.
After 9 minutes of intermission, Shkriniyar took advantage of a ball inside the penalty area to put it in the goal after a corner kick, and Inter resorted to the defense to preserve their victory in the last minutes.
With its seventh successive victory, Inter took another step towards its first league title in 11 years, raising its tally to 62 points, 6 points ahead of Milan and 10 points over Juventus, the third-ranked champion.
Atlanta remained in fifth place with 49 points.
