Inter Milan squandered the top of the Italian football league, albeit temporarily, after falling into the trap of losing 1-2 to Sampdoria today, Wednesday, in the 16th round of the Italian football league.

This round also saw Roma defeating Crotone 3-1, Lazio over Fiorentina 2-1, Sassuolo over Genoa 2-1, Atlanta over Parma 3-0, Benvento over Cagliari 2-1, Bologna drew 2-2 with Udinese and Verona with Turin 1-1.

Sampdoria scored two goals by Antonio Kandriva in the 23rd minute from a penalty kick and Keita Baldi in the 38th minute, while Stefan De Vrie scored Inter Milan’s goal in the 65th minute.

Inter Milan’s score stopped at 36 points in second place, one point behind Milan, who faces Juventus later in the day, to overtake the top of the league, even if temporarily, while Sampdoria raised its tally to 20 points in eleventh place.
