Iran has warned that any regional cooperation with Israel against its national security will face a clear response without indulgence, noting that the coming weeks will be “important and decisive.” At a time when the commander of the Air Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard said that there is no difference for Tehran in any possible war between the American bases and the countries hosting them.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that any cooperation between countries in the region and Israel against Iran’s national security or exceeding its red lines will face a clear and categorical response, stressing that as long as the American forces are in Iraq, security and stability will remain absent.
Zadeh added in statements to him, today, Saturday, that there is a last chance to preserve the nuclear agreement and that US President Joe Biden must take practical and rapid steps, pointing out that the coming weeks are important and decisive between whether the other party chooses to implement its commitments or abandon diplomacy.
The spokesman sent a message to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, saying, “Our policy is based on cooperating with everyone and not buying security from countries outside the region,” as he put it, adding that Tehran has not received a written answer from Riyadh regarding the Hormuz peace initiative it launched while it received positive answers from Gulf countries Other.
Zadeh said, “We have close and organized relations with Qatar and there is no regional file that we are discussing responsibly.”
Earlier, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that there were indications of suspicious American movements in the region, and that Tehran had informed Washington through private channels that it would bear the repercussions of any adventure.
Zadeh clarified that his country has informed countries in the region of the need to beware of falling into the “trap of American conspiracies”, stressing that Tehran will not initiate attacks on anyone, but its response will be inevitable and firm.
He also said that US President Donald Trump will leave with a “sinister legacy,” and that the Iranians will not forget the assassination of Soleimani and his comrades, referring to the American strike that targeted the commander of the Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, near Baghdad airport on January 3, 2020.
In a related context, the commander of the Air Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Ali Hajizadeh, affirmed that “there will be no difference between the American bases and their host countries in any war against Iran.” The Air Force Commander pointed out that “America and Israel will not bring security to anyone in the region.”
Iran’s threats to respond to any possible US aggression and prepare for all scenarios continue, as Iranian officials have repeated in the past few days statements vowing revenge with the commemoration of the first anniversary of the killing of Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani.
Earlier today, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Hossein Salami, warned that any aggressive moves against Iran would be met with a decisive, strong and broad military response, as he put it. And that while he was inspecting the military units on Abu Musa Island in the Gulf.
Salami said that the three islands are an integral part of Iranian territory, and that they have a defensive role, which he described as important in deterring threats. This is in reference to the islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb, which are in dispute with the Emirates.
Salami confirmed that the naval forces, in all their divisions, are ready to deal with any attack that the enemies front might think of, according to him.
Last Saturday, the commander of the navy in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Ali Reza Tangsiri, visited the islands of Greater Tunb and Lesser Tunb to inspect the Revolutionary Guard forces, and to determine the combat readiness there.
Tangsiri called on his forces to maintain their defense preparedness, be vigilant, and monitor all movements at the security level in this sensitive area, stressing that the naval forces of the Revolutionary Guards are ready to defend the water borders, and defend Iran’s interests and security.
Tense and alert
The previous days witnessed several similar statements, as Ismail Ghaani – who succeeded Soleimani in the leadership of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard – said yesterday that his country is still ready to respond, and it will determine the appropriate time and place for that, and hinted that revenge includes the American interior.
The Iranian mission to the United Nations, in a message addressed to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and the President of the Security Council, also said that “US provocations by sending strategic bombers to the region may lead to a dangerous escalation,” warning of any “American adventure” in the Gulf.
On the other hand, the American network “NBC” (NBC) quoted an American official as saying that the United States is noticing increasing indications that Iran may plan to launch an attack against American forces or interests in the Middle East.
The correspondent of “CNN” in the Pentagon also said that the Iranian naval forces have raised their level of alert in the Gulf with the possibility of Iranian operations there.
