    No. All the time.

  2. Wow someone with a brain and political power ?

  3. It feels like people are applauding the obvious here as if saying something like this is brave or revolotionary. World leaders already knew this, they just didn’t care until it became politically impossible to ignore the science any longer.

  4. *Religious groups starts to sweat*

  5. At least he doesn’t go by “hunches” and what his ample “gut” tells him.

  6. Trump: Hold my fairway wood

  7. Well, we’re screwed then in America.

  8. Woha! Hol’up there, what’s that science stuff you talkin about?

  9. The sad thing is that this is seen as newsworthy. The obvious response would surely be “duh”

  10. They are going to milk this for every bit of power and control they can.
    Just look at history, please.
Scientific progress does not equate to moral progress.

  11. What? Not on greed, pride, hate, prejudice, own opinions, nationalism…?

    My life is a lie.

  12. Yes, i think that is one of the most important lesson of this crisis right now and hopefully still is a lesson to be learned for some.

In some cases some decision makers are more important than others, in such a crisis as Covid19 experts in viral, epidemiology and health should have the stronger voice. They might have had the stronger voice in some countries (like South Korea) but they were/are literally downplayed and muffled in some others, sadly for them and their population.

  13. Don’t get overexicited.

Today is scientific evidences, tomorrow is whatever else he needs in order to look cool.

Half of his coalition is a mixed bag of anti-GMO anti-animal research, anti-vaxxers, anti-nuclear, conspirancy theorist, nimby populists, the other half is just a little more behaved.

He said what you read, only because the opposition leader said that science is important but religion too and we should open the churches for easter.

  14. Too bad they didn’t do that before exponential growth started

  15. Scientific evidence is disproved all the time. At one point the world was flat and the Earth was the center of the Universe…A little skepticism goes a long way.

  16. Now remember that `P < 0.05` is considered sufficient evidence in many “sciences”. This means ~1 in 20 results is wrong. And that’s not including errors due to improper procedures, researcher bias, coding errors or Excel mangling the data because gene names sort of look like dates.
