Residents of the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem appealed to the Palestinian Authority and the Jordanian government to take swift action to prevent the expulsion of dozens of families from their homes in the neighborhood, after an Israeli court ruled that.
The court took the expulsion decision, claiming that the land on which the Jordanian Ministry of Construction built housing for Palestinian refugees in the 1950s belongs to Jewish entities.
The Jerusalem District Court has decided to evacuate 4 families so far, while it is looking into other petitions.
On the other hand, the Israeli newspaper “Haaretz” documented attacks by settlers who terrorized Palestinian citizens in Ramallah, in the West Bank.
Haaretz revealed that an armed settler named Zvi Bar Yusef, from a settlement outpost called “Hafat Shell Zvi”, which is located on the lands of villages north of Ramallah, repeatedly attacked Palestinian families who were picnicking in the area last Friday, along with a group of settlers.
The newspaper pointed out that the Israeli police and army did not try to prevent the settlers from carrying out their attacks.
