  1. Eat the locust? They are highly nutritional. If you dont contaminate them with pesticide. Win-win-win.

  2. Well, I bet Trump will insist we help as little as possible, if at all.

  3. Why can’t we send the united states airforce to bomb the locust swarms?

Airburst munitions will do nothing to crops that the locusts weren’t going to do and the only risk is fire; fire suppression planes can drop the fire fire stopping water like substance used for forest fires.

Current measure : 7 planes dropping pesticide, poisoning the earth for years.
My solution : airburst ammunition, as high above the ground as possible.

Tell the 13 million expected famine victims that my idea was untested and unusual so it had to be just 7 planes fighting off locusts in 5+ countries.

  4. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://news.sky.com/story/locust-swarms-un-says-13-million-people-in-east-africa-could-face-food-crisis-11934413) reduced by 71%. (I’m a bot)

    > The United Nations has warned if the locust swarms spreading across East Africa are not stopped now it could affect millions of people and cost more than $1bn. In a stark warning to the world's governments, the UN's World Food Programme said it will be vastly more cost effective to raise the $76m needed to stop the swarms now instead of dealing with the consequences if it turns into a plague.

    > Desert locust swarms are now multiplying across Somalia, Kenya and Ethiopia and more have already been observed in Eritrea, Djibouti and northeastern Uganda, the regional Food Security and Nutrition Working Group warned on Friday.

    > This is the second warning this week, after the UN's humanitarian chief Mark Lowcock said a region where 13 million people already face severe food insecurity cannot afford another jolt.
