Manchester United squandered a new opportunity to put pressure on its stubborn neighbor and rival, Manchester City, and fell into a goalless draw with Crystal Palace on Wednesday night in the 29th round of the English Premier League.
Burnley prevented Leicester City from snatching second place in the competition after drawing 1-1 with him on Wednesday in the same round that also saw Sheffield United beat Aston Villa 1-0.
Manchester United fell in the second draw, which is the fourth for him in the last 5 games in the competition, to raise his tally to 51 points to stand alone in second place, but 14 points behind his neighbor and rival Manchester City before their match together next Sunday in the next round of the Premier League.
And United failed again to put pressure on rivals “City” before the upcoming derby match between them.
Crystal Palace raised its score to 34 points in thirteenth place, on goal difference only behind Wolverhampton.
Burnley tied with Leicester City with a goal scored by Matti Vedra in the fourth minute against a goal scored by Kelichi Ihanacho in the 34th minute.
Burnley raised his tally to 29 points in fifteenth place, and Leicester raised its tally to 50 points in third place, just one point behind Manchester United.
