  1. Going full trump* on the UK emigration policy is kind of a big deal. Any word on the UK buying or making cages for the kids yet? or adding an adoption program for childless couples (on the ‘right sort’ need apply, of course) for modest (relatively for the ‘right sort’).

  2. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/jan/08/mps-vote-to-drop-child-refugee-protections-from-brexit-bill) reduced by 86%. (I’m a bot)

    > MPs voted 348 to 252 against the amendment, which had previously been accepted by Theresa May's government and which would have guaranteed the right of unaccompanied child refugees to be reunited with family members living in the UK after Brexit.

    > As all amendments to the government's proposed Brexit bill failed under the weight of the Conservative party's majority, Downing Street sought to address concerns of MPs on a range of issues.

    > Referring to changes made by the government to the most recent version of the bill, Russell said it was "Inexplicable" that protections for child refugees had been removed, adding that he had no confidence that the UK government would improve workers' rights via a separate bill as has been promised.

  3. Conservatives doing conservative things.

Not only not giving a shit about anyone poorer than them, including children, but active trying to strip away what they have.

  4. This is fucking disgusting. I cannot believe that a nation as civil as the UK would actually give into the conservative extremists and grant this.
