The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, received an oral message from the Emir of the State of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, while sources for Al-Jazeera Net expected a breakthrough in the Gulf crisis.
The message was conveyed to the Emir of the State of Qatar, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nasser Al-Muhammad Al-Sabah during his visit to Doha this evening, Monday, as part of the efforts of the last hours before the Al-Ula summit.
The Kuwaiti Foreign Minister conveyed the greetings of the Emir of Kuwait to the Emir of Qatar, who in turn conveyed his greetings to Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The message of the Emir of Kuwait comes within the framework of the last hours’ efforts to resolve the Gulf crisis before the 41st summit of leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council, scheduled to be held tomorrow, Tuesday, in Al-Ula, Saudi Arabia.
Observers said to Al-Jazeera Net that they expect that the situation is heading towards détente. It is noteworthy that, over the past few days, Saudi-Qatari communications have been contacted by Kuwaiti mediation.
The date of the summit had been postponed from last December to January to give more time for mediation efforts.
On the other hand, the UAE and Bahrain are not showing the same preparation for these efforts, as they have recently created several crises, such as the regional water crisis and the airspace crisis.
