A Kazakhstani photographer, Azamat Sarsenbayev, posted a video of hundreds of pink flamingos swimming on the surface of Lake Karakol near the city of Aktau (west of the country).
“Because of such moments, I love my corner,” Sarsnbayev said in a Facebook post, referring to his intense love of photography, which he takes only as a hobby, away from professional work.
The clip was very popular on social media, and was reported by a number of local and international media, in addition to the page of the Embassy of the State of Kazakhstan in India, which used it to congratulate people there on the holiday season in Diwali.
“We hope that you will have the best of the festive season in Diwali, and keep in good health, to make your vacation more fun,” the embassy said in a post. “Here is a short video clip of the amazing pink flamingos.”
According to local media, flamingos usually appear near Aktau during their migration, and then fly south to the Khazar Nature Reserve in Turkmenistan or to Iran.
