  1. Not coping just bored.

  2. Nah mate. Every night’s Friday night now.

    Endless piss up, ya cunts.

  3. When do we *not* use alcohol as a coping mechanism? It’s how we cope with being around other Australians who drink too much.

    “Yeah, right mate.”

    – Aussie dude (dripping in sarcasm)

  5. Is it panic buying if it is a copying mechanism?

For me it is working great and my alcohol consumption went up by more than 86%. Now i finally have the time to learn how to make cocktails and experiment a bit. So i went from having on average 0 drinks a week to 5-6 (mostly) nice cocktails a week and as a bonus i sleep like a baby after, so i’d say go for it – make cocktails for your wife and kids and have a nice night.

  6. i bought an 18 pack of fosters yesterday.

i have none left. i’m coping okay though.

    cheers.

  7. Pretty fuckin tough time to quit drinking

  8. All the pubs are closed, this increase is just what the drinkers consume, only now at home.

  10. I mean people are gonna get bored if they’re locked inside for months at a time. No shit they’re gonna drink more.

  11. Gotta stock up while you can. Too late for lil old Aotearoa, everything’s closed. Heed my warning, don’t make the same mistakes I did.

  12. It’s not a coping mechanism. It’s just the normal amount for an Aussie with a couple of weeks off work. Multiply that by a few million people and yeah, of course stock is flying out the door. I’ve warmed up to Scomo lately. But if he takes our beer away…omg

  13. Fairly certain there are studies that indicate heavy booze consumption can hobble the immune system…so, not the greatest time to be a drunk
