  1. Well that’s going to end up hurting somebody.

  2. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.scmp.com/news/hong-kong/politics/article/3036874/hundreds-march-lunchtime-central-protest-mourn-death-hong) reduced by 94%. (I’m a bot)

    > Protesters vandalise a cafeteria at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, hours after learning about the death of HKUST student Chow Tsz-lok.

    > SCMP Hong Kong An HKUST year four student who was Chow's primary school classmate said that although he understood that Chow's situation had deteriorated over the past few days, he still felt heavy-hearted.

    > The protests were sparked by the death of Chow Tsz-lok, a second year computer science undergraduate at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.

  3. The student, surnamed Wong, said Chow was a hardworking and positive person in primary school, adding that his death was a regretful loss. He also demanded that Shyy condemn police violence.

  4. I don’t think it takes a psychic to see where this is headed. May their blood not be in vain.

  5. I think I’m missing part of what happened here, they were protesting a college student falling from a car park? Did he actually fall or do they think police pushed him and that’s why they’re protesting? Obviously I’m not justifying life rounds being shot into a crowd of civilians but I’m just trying to understand why they chose to protest the (seemingly) accidental death of a student?

  6. So he died after he accidentally fell from a parking lot while running away from police? [And now these protestors are trashing the campus and local small businesses of a HK university in retaliation for police brutality?](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2019/11/08/hong-kong-protester-falls-dies-marking-first-student-death-unrest/)

These protestors should come to America and see what real police brutality is against riots. The LA riots of 1992 had 63 deaths in 5 days. So far, the lack of casualties and the level of restraint shown by HK police is astonishing.
