Aston Villa snatched a fatal victory from the home of Leicester City with a clean goal on Sunday in the fifth stage of the English Premier League.
Fulham and Sheffield United scored their first point in the competition this season, tying them 1-1 today in the same stage, which also saw Tottenham and West Ham tied 2-2 and Crystal Palace against Brighton 1-1.
Aston Villa owes this victory to Englishman Ross Barclay – loaned by Chelsea – in the first minute of the stoppage time of the match, to raise Aston Villa’s tally to 12 points and advance to second place, two points ahead of defending champions Liverpool, one point behind leaders Everton, while Leicester’s balance is frozen. City are at 9 points in fourth place after suffering a second consecutive defeat.
