Real Madrid dominate the best squad in the last decade, amid major objections

The International Federation of Football History and Statistics (IFFHS) has revealed the list of the best squad in the world in the last decade (2011-2020), which included 11 players from various European clubs.

Real Madrid dominated the squad with 4 players from its current squad on the list, while its arch-rivals Barcelona won one place for Lionel Messi, and Bayern Munich came behind the “royal” with 3 players.

The German goalkeeper, Manuel Neuer, came in front of him in the defense, retired Bayern Munich player Philipp Lahm as a right-back, and the Spaniard Sergio Ramos and Brazilian Marcelo from Real Madrid, and Dutchman Virgil Van Dyck from Liverpool, England.

Real Madrid players Luka Modric and German Toni Kroos appeared in the midfield, and former Barcelona player Andres Iniesta, while Bayern’s Polish player Robert Lewandowski was in the attacking line next to Cristiano Ronaldo and Messi.

Real Madrid, on its official Twitter page, celebrated the presence of 4 of its players in the best team in the last decade.

The fans objected to some of the names in the squad, and most of them were unanimous that Van Dyck was not eligible in light of the brilliance of other defenders during the past decade, such as Dani Alves, Giorgio Chiellini, Carlos Puyol and others, citing the appearance of the Dutchman only two years ago since joining Liverpool.
