The Serie A club, leaders AC Milan, lost their first two points this season, with a thrilling draw at home to 3-3 with Roma in the fifth round of the competition.
At the San Siro Stadium, Swedish star Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored an early goal for Milan in the second minute.
Eden Djikou equalized for Roma in the 14th minute, then Milan took the lead after Alexis Salimaekers scored his second goal in the 47th minute.
Roma won a penalty kick, from which Jordan Virtue equalized in the 71st minute.
Sultan Ibrahimovic did not give Roma much time until he regained Milan’s lead by scoring the third goal from a penalty kick in the 79th minute, to be the only top scorer with 6 goals.
However, struggling Roma this season did not give up and pressed until they equalized again, with Marash Kumboula scoring the third goal in the 84th minute.
Milan won in its previous four matches, bringing its first tie to 13 points at the top of the standings, while Roma remained in ninth place despite the rise to 8 points.
