  1. Oh good. With their shenanigans in the senate over, the Republican party was almost out of talking points. Can’t have them being forced to talk about the moral and ethical failures they’ve chosen to make without a convenient smoke grenade to drop in front of the press.

  2. Russia sidestepped the Maginot Line that is the US armed forces, and went straight through the Belgium of “the average voter”.

  3. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/feb/06/russia-hacking-information-warfare-election-2020) reduced by 80%. (I’m a bot)

    > The FBI director, Christopher Wray, has warned that Russia is engaged in "Information warfare" heading into the 2020 presidential election, though he said law enforcement has not seen ongoing efforts by Russia to target America's election infrastructure.

    > "Unlike a cyber-attack on an election infrastructure, that kind of effort – disinformation – in a world where we have a first amendment and believe strongly in freedom of expression, the FBI is not going to be in the business of being the truth police and monitoring disinformation online," Wray said.

    > Even without signs of election system targeting, Wray said Russian efforts to interfere in the election through disinformation had not tapered off since 2016.

  4. With Barr in charge these investigations won’t go on much longer, as long as Russia does things to keep his boss in power

  5. Can we not have a repeat of 2016, please?

  6. When you’re already in and the criminals guard the gates, you really don’t have to.

  7. > says he has not seen new effort to hack election infrastructure

Didn’t Trump intentionally decide *not* to investigate election interference a couple years back? Who’s to say the Russians just haven’t gotten better and the Americans aren’t equipped to look properly?

  8. Careful, Trump will fire you and come up with some cheesy nickname for you on the way out. Ol’ my way or the highWray Chris talking fake news and deep state propaganda again. /s

  9. Russiadies not need to hack the the infrastructure. Waging social media misinformation campaigns are sufficient.

*edit* removed “Baby, do not” should have checked voice type before hitting post.

  10. Good. I have literally no sympathy for a nation that has been fucking over other nations since day one getting a good taste of their own medicine. Fair’s fair:

  11. I don’t trust my government to allow fair elections anyway. I probably won’t bother voting. It’s a show. America isn’t free.
