  1. Our “ally”. Can you imagine a European country or America doing this? Me neither.

  2. Our “friends” who financed and planned 9/11, everyone!

The only reason they’re not a glass sculpture right now is because half of Washington is on their payroll.

  3. Remember when the US had a President that would condemn this behavior and not sell them nuclear technology on WhatsApp?

    Pepperidge Farms remembers.

  4. Yet Iran is pushed as the “villian”. Honestly they are bad too but I don’t like this hypocrisy from the US.

  5. Ah yes, the power of that black gold. Buying the leaders of a country is a most excellent investment as Saudi Arabia has shown time and time again.

  6. my usual copypasta

The Saudi “legal system” is a joke.

[Torture is common with arrests and is used for extracting confessions.](https://www.refworld.org/docid/3ae6a98d8.html) Due process is regularly ignored, as is precedent (judges aren’t bound by it) and their version of Sharia [isn’t codified – THE LAWS ARE NOT WRITTEN DOWN, making criminal prosecutions arbitrary and capricious in the extreme](https://foreignpolicy.com/2012/01/23/why-wont-saudi-arabia-write-down-its-laws/). Trials are run under the presumption of guilt and the accused is rarely allowed to even examine evidence or question witnesses. Rules of evidence are made up on the spot and are different for every trial.

Defendants were only given the right to access lawyers and the right to have open proceedings in 2002 – [but both of these “reforms” go ignored.](https://www.cbsnews.com/news/saudi-arabia-israa-al-ghomgham-specialized-criminal-court-possible-execution/)

Most proceedings are still closed arbitrarily and lawyers are still denied to defendants. The appeals process is effectively always related to mercy and rarely related to innocence.

Any cases under the “Specialized Criminal Court” (aka “terrorism” court, which eagerly hands out death penalties to minors for protesting) will feature a denial of access to legal counsel.

Oh, and of course, it takes 2 women to equal the testimony of 1 man.

It’s a farcical pig circus, little better than show courts put on by warlords in tents with goats walking around.

With a legal system so compromised, there are no fair trials in Saudi Arabia.

http://www.thecanadianencyclopedia.ca/en/article/william-sampson-reveals-his-mistreatment-by-the-saudis/ talks about a Canadian who was tortured by this regime.

  7. The era of Silence the dissident by any means around the World!. Trump trying to find a way!
