  1. Spaniard here, the army has officially declared that they don’t have the necessary manpower and are [requesting aid from OTAN](https://www.diariodemallorca.es/nacional/2020/03/24/espana-pide-ayuda-otan-responder/1497032.html).

Madrid (Capital City) is so overwhelmed we’re using an [ice-rink for a temp morgue](https://www.theolivepress.es/spain-news/2020/03/23/ice-rink-being-turned-into-morgue-in-spains-madrid-as-bodies-piling-up-due-to-coronavirus-pandemic/).

If there’s is anyone out there questioning the seriousness of the situation, consider this: [Spain’s healthcare was considered amongst the top 10 in the world](https://www.thelocal.es/20170519/spains-healthcare-ranks-among-best-in-world).

Let that sink in for a moment.

One of the countries with the best healthcare systems in the planet is so inundated and unable to cope with the situation they are requesting military aid.

All because the response was a moment too late and we weren’t prepared for it.

When it comes to a pandemic, either you respond properly on time or you’re going to be in serious trouble. Pandemics are not things to which one should **REACT** to, they are things one should **PREPARE** for.
