  1. Putin told Trump it makes no sense to financially support these guys, Trump believed him and pulled out, Putin moved right in and gained the regional influence that America just gave away. What utter retardation. Trump would lose a game of Catan to school children and he’s Commander in Chief of the most powerful army the world has ever seen.

  2. If you were abandoned by one ally, you should find another that can guard your safety. Russia is an obvious choice, probably the reason Putin ordered trump to get out of Syria.

  3. Russia is everybodies friend right now. The Kurds, Iran, Syria, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Israel, China, Serbia….

  4. Wow – such a geopolitical disaster for the US, with Russia looking like a bastion of stability for every country in the Middle East.

The message is clear – ally with Russia, buy Russian weapons, do what Russia says, and it will stand by you. Ally with America, you could be sold out without warning.

I expect to see Turkey continue ethnic cleansing along the border. Assad’s torture squads will hunt down Kurdish leaders. Their people will be severely repressed.

It’s a terrible day for the West, we will spend decades regretting the Trump presidency.

  5. I’m amazed that Russia has the same regional influence as America with a GDP and Military nowhere the size of ours. They’re never involved in as many Foreign Conflicts as we are. Their proxies seem to be much more effective than ours. Plus they can interfere in our Domestic Politics. Why do we have 9 aircraft carriers to their 1 and they seem to be on a par with us.

  6. The Middle East is once and for all, FUBAR

  7. Trump pushed them right where Putin wanted. Another ally that will hate America

  8. Trump doing the work of his master Putin flawlessly.

  9. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.kurdistan24.net/en/news/86966e18-1977-4924-b17d-606097dabc53) reduced by 55%. (I’m a bot)
    > There have been no official statements from Russian authorities, but Syrian state media, the Syrian Arabic News Agency, wrote in a breaking news bulletin, "Syrian Arab Army units move north to confront Turkish aggression on Syrian territory.”

    > Pro-state Syrian television station Alikhbariya also confirmed the Syrian army had started moving northward towards areas east of the Euphrates, announcing, "The Syrian Arab Army started a movement towards the north of Syria to face the Turkish aggression.”

    > Kurdish officials in the past have stated that if they were forced to choose between cooperating with either the Syrian government or Turkey, they would rather deal with Damascus to prevent Kurdish populations from being persecuted and displaced, as happened when Turkey occupied the city of Afrin in March 2018.
