  1. Bone Spur surrenders again.

  2. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.newsweek.com/taliban-claims-finalized-peace-deal-u-s-ceasefire-donald-trump-february-1487600) reduced by 75%. (I’m a bot)
    > A Taliban spokesperson has claimed that the organization has finalized a peace deal with the U.S. to end more than 18 years of war.

    > Trump declared the peace process "Dead" after that failure, but negotiations have continued led by U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan Reconciliation Zalmay Khalilzad. This weekend, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper said the U.S. plan for reduced violence is the first step in any lasting peace deal.

    > An eventual peace deal may see the ultra-conservative Taliban re-enter Afghan politics, a development feared by civil and women's rights campaigners, who were brutally repressed under the group's rule from 1996 to 2001.

  3. U.S. and Taliban have finalized a peace deal. They’ll sign it pending the success of a 7-day-reduction-in-violence period.

If the deal gets signed, the Taliban and Afghan govt. will hold direct peace talks for the first time to negotiate a cease-fire & possible seat-at-the-table for the Taliban in Afghan politics again. This is feared by many since their rule from ’96-’01 was brutal.

Pending success of the cease-fire and political participation agreement, American troops will begin pulling out. Currently we have 13,000*. Goal is to cut to 8,600.

  4. …and they didn’t even get a trip to camp David. Another Trump photo op missed, sorry Donald.

  5. Here’s how to read this “America has figured out a way to have a temporary period of calm during which it can declare success and exit and thereafter not be involved in the civil war to follow in 6-18 months but no sooner than the US presidential election”.

Imagine this though. 1) US withdraws from Afghanistan; 2) Trump gets re-elected; 3) after the election Taliban seize government again; 4) Taliban launch another strike on America 9/11 style during Trump’s second term.

My bet is that Trump nukes Afghanistan.

  6. So USA now negotiates with terrorists. Thx Obama…oh wait.
