Today, Friday, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned the Egyptian ambassador following the abuses issued by the assistant of the Egyptian Minister of Manpower, against the background of a Kuwaiti citizen’s assault on an Egyptian doctor.
Khalid Al-Jarallah, Kuwaiti Deputy Foreign Minister, expressed Kuwait’s condemnation, resentment, and strong rejection of the abuses that targeted the state and its symbols, considering them to be “shameful practices” that require the Egyptian authorities to take legal measures against this official, according to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA).
Al-Jarallah clarified that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has formally requested the Egyptian authorities to take legal measures towards the abuse that was issued and to refer those behind them for investigation, in order to find out the circumstances and the reasons behind their issuance in preparation for taking appropriate legal measures.
He added that he informed the Egyptian ambassador that Kuwait will follow up on the measures that the Egyptian authorities will take, and in light of them, “(Kuwait) will reserve its right to take the necessary measures.”
For his part, the Egyptian ambassador expressed his rejection of these abuses against the State of Kuwait and its symbols, stressing that he received calls today from officials in the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who confirmed the authorities’ intention to take the necessary action against the official.
