The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar and the US National Security Adviser discuss bilateral cooperation and regional issues

The media office at the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdul Rahman Al Thani received a phone call from US National Security Adviser Jack Sullivan.

According to the media office, during the call, they reviewed bilateral cooperation relations and a number of regional issues, especially Iraq, Iran and Afghanistan.

International efforts are underway on more than one level for the return of the United States of America to the agreement reached by several Western countries and Iran in 2015 regarding the Iranian nuclear program, and Washington withdrew from it in 2018 during the era of former President Donald Trump.

On the issue of Afghanistan, negotiations have been underway for months in the Qatari capital, Doha, between the Afghan government delegation and the Taliban movement, with the aim of reaching a ceasefire agreement, comprehensive peace and partnership in running the affairs of Afghanistan.
