  1. There has to be separation of church and state but im fine with this.

  2. Good. Both for victims of priestly sexual abuse, but also for those victims of abuse by secular individuals as well.

  3. >He called it “unjust” that nothing can be done about such cases starting 10 years from the date of the offense, “since the wrong done lasts for the lifetime of the person who has been a victim.”

If this is the case then surely the statue of limitations for any crime which has a permanent effect on the victim (which we will assume is most of them for crimes which actually have a victim) is unjust and we should be moving towards abolishing it entirely? I don’t see the point in the selective abolition of the statute of limitations for emotionally charged crimes.

  4. New generation of leadership.

It’s been happening in the US too where a new, younger bishop comes into a diocese and opens up the archives for a full disclosure.

  5. The Vatican should make all priests Vatican citizens with extradition agreements with every country they operate in and then they can make all the rules they want to stem this abuse. Going from country to country seems like a monumental waste of time even if the laws they want are in everyone’s best interest

  6. **Esse tipo de crime deve acabar. Quais as providências fora da Igreja para combater este tipo de abuso às crianças!**

**This kind of crime must end. What are the steps outside the church to combat this type of child abuse!**

  7. Am I reading this wrong? Or did they just take away the laws protecting little boys like chastity belts. And why is this a good thing.

I was reading it wrong. But seeing the catholic church, I immediately assumed the worst, my bad.

  8. I am okay with this. I am not okay with it being the church doing it.
