From the meekness of the village to the hustle and bustle of metropolises

In the village of Wada’a, North Darfur, western Sudan, and in 1946, the late Adeebna was born, but the winds of transportation blew into the sail of the boy, a request for the knowledge he received in the cities of El Fasher (the capital of Darfur) and Omdurman, until he graduated from the Higher Teachers Institute (College of Education, University of Khartoum) in 1969. .

And if Isaac passed away from a farewell, but he was able to cherish it with him throughout his life, the villages and the Darfurian Furqan, to be evident in his narratives, the first of which was “An Event in the Village” 1969, the novel that Isaac presented to his readers, and the matter turned into an event in Khartoum, since the novel revealed a novelist in private Beautiful is writing in a language that is not without the local dialects of Darfur.

In this, the writer Fadila Jamaa (poet, playwright and novelist) says in his article in the Sudanese newspaper “Shanael”, “Isaac has surprised the reader since the release of his first production (An Event in the Village) with a different narrative world. The place in the narrative imaginative is villages and states that took many of the features of his village (Wadaa). And the surrounding villages and states in East Darfur, and what Ishaq most surprised the reader is the language of dialogue that is not without its ruggedness for those accustomed to the dialogue of the people of the novel in classical Arabic or the widespread Omdurman colloquial.

A dialogue language that wins criticism and admiration

The novel “An Event in the Village” constituted a new splash in Sudanese literature. The dialogue in it takes the Darfurian dialect as the language of dialogue, and some saw it as an obstacle to the reader from outside the Darfur region, while some saw it as an advantage and a fictional function.

Talking about the language of dialogue in the novels of Isaac did not stop until he left the world, and the critic and writer Hatem Al-Kinani believes in his testimony to Al-Jazeera Net that “the most important characteristic of Isaac’s narratives is its ability to express its society, which is the Darfur society, and this is reflected in his ability to domesticate his local vernacular within His novel with an eloquent context. “

In his article by the late novelist, Fadili asserts that Ishaq does not pay attention to the critical voices, saying, “This novelist did not pay much attention to the confusion raised by some of the cultural pretenders and half-criticism about the rugged language of dialogue in his stories, and that it is thoroughly localized.”

Ishaq continued his creative career with the same approach that he had devised for himself and his novels, and Al-Kinani continues in his testimony, recalling his memory: “I was present at one of the seminars, and I remember that the late was asked about the language of his characters, and that the localities in it might prevent the spread of his works, so he replied: I offer my scholar.” (A writer who sits in front of the court or government departments to write to people the wording of their requests or complaints).

A world of writing and fable

Many are confused about classifying the late and arranging his qualities between being a novelist, a storyteller and a serious researcher. Ishaq was not satisfied with writing narrative only, as his bid went beyond that, so he wrote many magazines and newspapers inside and outside Sudan, and he has a remarkable research tender. That important book, which in its origin is his research, which he obtained a master’s degree from the Institute of Asian and African Studies at the University of Khartoum, and he was associated with Bushra, who said about that: “I fell in love with the late at the institute, and when he applied for a master’s degree, he had then supplied the Sudanese library with 3 books, We went to topics of many sources. He chose this subject that was exhausted by research and exploration, and it was one of the most important things that Isaac wrote.

Acknowledgment of Default

The extended pain left by the departure of Ishaq in the literary scene in Sudan is part of it related to the grave loss of a presenter writer, and for others to their sense that he deserves more attention and in-depth studies before his departure.

The critic Mustafa Al-Sawy believes that Ishaq needs new and extensive readings, despite his counting of a number of studies on the literature of the late, including university dissertations. He added that the Abdul Karim Mirghani Center had singled out the late with a critical conference within its series of scientific conferences on the Sudanese novel.

And Jamma returns to conclude his article by saying, “In front of criticism and researchers in the field of fiction and narration in Sudan, a towering mountain, they must carefully climb it as they enter Isaac’s writings that are filled with worlds and lives from the core of the Sudanese environment, western Sudan in particular.”

Ishaq had presided over the Sudanese Writers Union, was a member of the National Council for Cultural Heritage and the Promotion of National Languages, and for decades worked as a professor of English in Sudan and Saudi Arabia.

He also won the Literature and Arts Encouragement Award at the Khartoum Festival of Culture, Literature and Arts in 1979, and he was awarded an honorary doctorate degree from the University of El Fasher in Sudan in 2004, as well as the Tayeb Salih Prize for Novelist Creativity organized annually by the Abdul Karim Mirghani Cultural Center, and the Tayeb Salih International Prize for Written Creativity held by Zain For contacts.

The sadness surrounding the people of literature and culture prevented many of them from commenting on the event or providing a statement, especially those who had a close relationship with the deceased, but some of them came to what is being used within them to be certain that this is the right of literature and the right of Isaac over them, and hardly a Sudanese institution is active in the culture except And his name, and before them the government was at all levels.

Isaac was a brilliant literary and a gentleman. The audience who used to read his stories in the Sudanese newspapers lost him. With his departure, the Arabic novel lost a great name, and the villages of Darfur lost a man who carried with him that he was gone.
