  1. That’s precisely what people said would happen after PiS established their party-controlled judicial-oversight body.

To quote [an article from 2018](https://www.dw.com/en/polands-pis-takes-control-of-judicial-watchdog/a-42853145):

    > Zurek told the AFP news agency that he also believed plans to establish a KRS disciplinary arm “will have the goal of carrying out the dirty work of getting rid of insubordinate judges.”

Ironically, Judge Juszczyszyn was suspended by a member of the new PiS-aligned judicial oversight body he had criticized.

If you’re wondering how Juszczyszyn is pronounced, here’s a TV report with more details on the case:

  2. Good that some still care about the rule of law. Often, the ideology of parties like PiS directly conflict w the rule of law. This is because so much of their end game would be impossible in any society governed by the rule of law. That’s exactly why they attack the courts first.

  3. The judicial system needs to be above the administrative system for democracy to function. It’s that simple.

  4. Judging by elections, that’s what majority of poles want. Fuck it, let them have it and once they go full bullshit level, hopefully they will be suspended and kicked out of EU (eventually EU should just stop be so spineless). Then they can enjoy their “traditional values nation under god and what not else”
