  2. Translation: la la la la la I CAN’T HEAR YOU

  3. So wait, first he is mad at the Kurds because they weren’t with us in Normandy, Republicans call him on it and he reversed and threatens Turkey that he could “destroy their economy”, then Turkey calls his bluff and he just says “Well never mind, not our business anyway”.

But before that, he claimed that the Kurds may have released ISIS fighters, which would’ve made it our problem anyway because we pulled out the region and allowed whatever to happen.

How is sending troops to Saudi Arabia more important than keeping strongholds in Syria and backing some of our most loyal allies in the Kurds?

And I’m not even going to get into the Trump Tower debacle. None of this makes any sense. His logic isn’t consistent with any of this.

  4. This kinda directly translates to “I don’t care if ISIS comes back”

  5. This is the best tl;dr I could make, [original](https://www.nytimes.com/2019/10/16/world/middleeast/trump-erdogan-turkey-syria-kurds.html) reduced by 61%. (I’m a bot)
    > President Trump again defends his decision to withdraw American troops, an order that many, even Republicans, have interpreted as acquiescing to Turkey's incursion against a United States ally.

    > Mr. Trump, speaking to reporters alongside the Italian president, said the American soldiers he had ordered to pull back, and who had been fighting with Kurdish forces in northern Syria near the Turkish border, were not in harm's way.

    > Even members of Mr. Trump's own party have criticized the president's actions to abandon the Kurds, who now are fighting Turkish forces in a chaotic battlefield that also has put at risk American troops pulling back from the Syrian border with Turkey.
