    Don’t get too excited. Journalists know very little about economics. While the US was exporting 3 million barrels of crude oil per day in June we were IMPORTING more crude oil per day in June. Gross numbers are largely irrelevant other than to prove that part of the US has more crude oil extraction than it has refineries to process it and other parts of the US has more refining capacity than crude oil extraction. Here is the net imports / (exports) figure….
