FIFA has announced the winners of the Best Awards for the year 2020, and Polish striker Robert Lewandowski, German coach Jürgen Klopp, and South Korean Son Heung-min presented the list of winners.
The names of the winners were announced at a ceremony held today, Thursday, as a hypothetical event at FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland, without the presence of the various prize contestants or guests due to the outbreak of the new Corona virus.
Lewandowski, the German Bayern Munich star, won the World Player of the Year award and surpassed Lionel Messi and his Portuguese rival, Cristiano Ronaldo.
This star played a prominent role in Bayern’s crowning of the historic three (the German League, Cup and Champions League) last season, and he became only the second player in history to lead his team to a triple victory, including the Champions League title, and tops the list of scorers in the three tournaments of the same season.
