The US State Department strongly condemned the missile attack, which targeted the Saudi capital (Riyadh) the day before yesterday, Saturday, stressing that Washington will help Riyadh to cope with any attacks.
The ministry said in a statement that it was gathering more information about the attack, which appeared to be an attempt to target civilians.
The US State Department also confirmed in its statement that it will help Saudi Arabia confront the attacks on its soil, and hold accountable those who try to undermine its stability.
The statement pointed out that “such attacks contradict international law and undermine all efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability.”
He also made clear that the US administration seeks to “calm tensions in the region, including an end to the war in Yemen.”
On Saturday, Saudi TV said that Saudi air defenses intercepted and destroyed a missile launched by the Houthis towards Riyadh, which the Houthis denied.
