Bayern Munich reversed their two goals defeat at home to Borussia Dortmund to a thrilling 4-2 win on Saturday in the fourth round of the German Football League.
Leipzig was temporarily top by beating its host Freiburg by three goals, but the Bavarian club quickly returned to its favorite position after the dramatic victory over Dortmund thanks to the great brilliance of Polish sniper Robert Lewandowski, who scored three goals (a hat trick).
And at the “Allianz Arena”, Bayern raised their score at the top to 55 points, two points behind runner-up Leipzig, and Dortmund’s score stopped at 39 points in sixth place.
Young Norwegian striker Erling Haaland led two early goals to Dortmund (2 and 9).
Lewandowski responded with two goals for Bayern (26 and 44 from a penalty kick).
Two minutes before the end, Leon Goretska scored the third goal for Bayern, then Lewandowski confirmed Bayern’s superiority by scoring his third and fourth goal for the Bavarian club in stoppage time.
Lewandowski surpassed Haaland in this match as well, as the Polish scorer topped the scorers’ list with 31 goals compared to 19 goals for the young Norwegian, who ranks second in the list.
