  1. Looks like a cottage industry of “Cellphone with arm attached to headset” is just about to crank up.

  2. If they can get it to work 100% reliably, I hope they’ll institute SWAT style raids of the people caught. They’re right there with drunk drivers for being an absolute menace.

  3. The proposed penalties are steep for New South Wales.

    5 demerit points (you get 12 every 3 years) and > $400.

    Get caught during holiday periods and the demerit points double to 10. You could lose your licence on the spot.

  5. Why don’t these govs grow a pair and just legislate the device makers to magically shut off if driving?
